  1.                           CONFERENCE RULES
  2.        International Personal Computer Gaming Conference (GAMING)

  5. o The first rule of any echo is:  LEAVE THE MODERATING TO A MODERATOR.
  6.  
  7. o GAMING is an echo focused toward personal computer game enthusiasts.
  8.   Originating in Fidonet Zone 1, English is the conference language.
  9.  
  10. o The topics of this echo conference are pc game play; gaming hints,
  11.   computer game-related problems, pc game assistance, and information
  12.   in general relating to personal computer gaming.
  13.  
  14. o Discussions of video, arcade(coin-op), online(door), play-by-mail, or
  15.   role-playing GAMES as well as sound and video cards are NOT ALLOWED.
  16.   Live role-playing (RPG) is distinguished from computer RPG (CRPG), the
  17.   latter being a permitted topic. There are other conferences dedicated
  18.   to these subjects. When these topics relate to a pc game, *limited*
  19.   discussion will be permitted. Messages which do not deal primarily
  20.   with personal computer games are not permitted. Moderators are exempt
  21.   in order to perform their duties.
  22.  
  23. o Do not reply to OFFtopic messages. Answers to these tend to perpetuate
  24.   themselves and lead the threads astray.
  25.  
  26. o Messages involving software pirating activity, solicitation of cracks
  27.   or codes for copyright protection removal or circumvention, advocating
  28.   or indicating criminal activity, or blatent obscenities will not be
  29.   tolerated and the writer subject to *immediate removal* from the echo.
  30.  
  31. o Attacks of a personal nature (flames) are prohibited.  Do not respond
  32.   to personal attacks IN THE ECHO.  Attack the issue, not the writer.
  33.  
  34. o GAMING is G-rated.  Foul or harsh language in any form whatsoever is
  35.   not acceptable and will not be tolerated.  This means *ALL* foul or
  36.   harsh language and obscenities.
  37.  
  38. o Limit QUOTING to only those portions of a message pertinent to your
  39.   reply.  Keep quoting short and to the point.  Do not quote obscene
  40.   or vulgar language and delete quoted tag, tear and origin lines.
  41.  
  42. o "Handles" or aliases are allowed but this privilege may be revoked
  43.   at the discretion of a moderator when an echo rule(s) is violated.
  44.  
  45. o ADVERTISEMENTS of BBSs, networks, or services of any type are not
  46.   permitted. ANNOUNCEMENTS of new pc games, information or products
  47.   relating to them are permissable on a *frequency limited* basis.
  48.  
  49. o Buying, selling, swapping games (or anything else) is prohibited.
  50.  
  51. o High ASCII characters are permitted only in the body of a message.
  52.   Note: this area is for messaging so fancy artwork and signatures are
  53.   out, however charts/diagrams for hint purposes will be permitted.
  54.   Message "signatures" should not exceed two lines total.

  56. o Not all people spell or type well. However, this does not invalidate
  57.   their message. Derogatory comments on another's grammar or spelling
  58.   is prohibited.
  59.  
  60. o Have fun, viewpoints can be widely diverse so keep it friendly and
  61.   clean. If a moderator feels from the tone of your messages over a
  62.   period of time that you are not enjoying yourself, or if you are
  63.   abusing your access to this echo, you will receive a warning.

  68.   VIOLATORS  of  the above rules will receive  *ONE*  warning in the
  69.   echo.  A second violation will bring a  FINAL WARNING  via NetMail
  70.   in care of your sysop.  For an additional offense, access  may  be
  71.   cut  at a moderator's discretion.  Appeals will be accepted by the
  72.   moderators via NetMail only.  REBUTTALS  to moderator messages, if
  73.   posted in the echo, may result in having access *cut immediately*
  74.   without further notice.
